How Do I Set Up Ad Sync?

  • All users who have: Manage Activity Stream Promo Posts
  • This is applicable to: Single Tenant App Only

Requirements:

  • Station/brand have already purchased the SoCast Mobile App package
  • Cut ID provided by your station automation software
  • Ad Sync must be enabled by your SoCast Account Manager
  • Have been given the above listed permissions by your SoCast Account Manager.

Please ensure that Ad Sync is set up on your account by speaking to your Account Manager at SoCast before proceeding. Currently our Ad Sync platform only works for data sent by TRE. If you don't use TRE, or you are unable to send the playlist and ad data in the same format as TRE sets out, please contact your Account Manager to discuss the possibility of customizing the platform to meet your needs.


To enter the category ID's for commercials and playlists, please do the following:

Go to Settings > On Air Playlist

Enter the category ID's in the "Sync Category Names" portion of these settings. 

The category names are necessary because without it, SoCast will not be able to differentiate between what are songs are what are ads. If you do not have this information, please ask your station engineer to talk to your playlist provider to give you the category ID for commercials and for songs/music. It is usually a 3-letter string.
