Why Did My Social Media Post Fail?

Below are some suggestions as to why a social media post may have failed.

Step-by-step guide

Outages:

1. One of the main reasons why your social posts could be failing is due to server outages or issues with a specific social network.
2. Example of a failed message warning due to server issues:
   
   1. Error posting to Facebook . # An unexpected error has occurred. Please retry your request later

Duplicated Posts:

1. Twitter requires a minimum of 10 tweets between duplicated or “copied” posts.
2. Facebook requires at least 1 other post between duplicates.
3. Examples of failed duplicate warnings:
   1. Error posting to Facebook # Duplicate status message
   2. Error posting to Facebook. #Facebook anti-spam rules prevents posting the same post to the same account or page without a different post in between. Please ensure there is at least one other post or change with account/page to post too before posting this one again.

    

Corrupt URL link or media file:

1. A corrupt image file or a corrupt url was added to your post. It can often happen from copying an pasting or saving from other websites.
2. Examples of failed media warnings:
   1. Error posting to Facebook.(#100) picture URL is not properly formatted.
   2. Error posting to Twitter. (#400)errors code 44 message: media_ids parameter is invalid

Your Facebook token has not been authorized:

1. Facebook frequently makes 'calls' to the SoCast platform to verify your Facebook account. Sometimes Facebook cannot verify your account for various reasons and will ask you to re-authorize your Facebook token. For instructions on how please see: How Do I Re-authorize My Facebook Token?
2. Examples of failed token warnings:
   1. Error posting to Facebook. #There is a problem with your token or your permissions. Please re-authorize our app by clicking the Authorize button in the social tab of the SoCast admin then follow the instructions provided to you in the pop-up.
