As of March 1, 2017, SoCast will launch a player skin that incorporates the ability to add your station to the Radioplayer Canada ecosystem, while simultaneously giving you full control over branding, drawing listeners to your station's blog content, and greater monetization opportunities through SoCast's advertising solutions.

How to set up the Radioplayer Player:


To get your player to look like the one above, you will need to set up a few options in SoCast's and Radioplayer's backend.

Before you start

Go to your Radioplayer backend and change the URL link to your player. It should be 

[your station's website]/player


Ensure that this is set up to ensure that anybody clicking on your player within Radioplayer's menu will be directed to the correct player address of your station.


If you currently use SoCast's player, and are looking to change it to the Radioplayer skin, please skip to Step 2.


Step 1: Enable the SoCast player

Go to the Settings page, and click on Streaming Radio Player:

 


On the Player Type dropdown, click on SoCast Player

 

Then scroll down to the bottom of the page and click Save.

If you don't see the SoCast Player option available, please speak to your Account Manager. 


Step 2: Enable the Radioplayer Skin

In your Streaming Radio Player settings, click on Edit Skin then select Radioplayer Music 1.0:

If you don't see the Radioplayer Music 1.0 option available, please speak to your Account Manager. 


Step 3: Set up the Radioplayer portion of your player skin:

  1. Go to your Player Skin Settings, or click here: http://admin.socastsrm.com/player/skin
     

  2. Enter the settings in the Radioplayer controls settings:
     

    1. Player Logo: This is the logo you will see in the top left of the Radioplayer header

      Dimensions and format: 220x50px, JPG/PNG/GIF

    2. Radioplayer Control Bar Background Colour: This is the colour of the Radioplayer header bar





      Add the colour in hex format.
       

    3. Radioplayer control button theme: The colour of the favourites, play and volume buttons.

             

      You have the choice between a light and dark

    4. Radioplayer Station ID: This is the ID from Radioplayer’s backend
       

      Ensure you enter the right number to make sure the correct station is pulled in.
