How Do I Configure A Social Stream? (New)

This Article Is For:

  • All users who have a SoCast account (Login & Password)
  • All users who have access to the 'SRM' feature
  • This is applicable to all SoCast Themes

These instructions are used to add a new social stream under the 'Monitoring' section.

Step-by-step guide

  1. Go to the Social tab

  2. Click Configure streams

  3. Stream Selection: Add streams to monitor by selecting the stream sources below. To add more social networks, go to your Personal Social Settings. Choose from the following:

    1. Inbox: The inbox stream will display the following (provided you have them setup):
      1. Member & Anonymous Comments/Conversations
      2. Facebook Conversations
      3. Twitter Conversations
      4. SMS Conversations
      5. To add more conversation options to the 'Inbox' Stream, go to the Activity Streams (Website>Activity Streams) page.
      6. To add the inbox stream to your monitoring sections click 'Add Stream'



    2. Smart Stream: Within the Topic/Brand/Influencer section enter a keyword, #HashTag, or @Mention. Analyze sentiment, demographics, and engagement for specific topics, brands, or influencers on Twitter.


    3. RSS: Within the RSS Box, enter the URL for an RSS Feed. (i.e. http://www.cbc.ca/cmlink/rss-topstories)



    4. Facebook: Choose one or all of the following options associated to your selected Facebook Page. Note Due to Changing Facebook Rules you and any other users must be listed as an administrator for your Facebook Page to use the Activity Stream :

      1. Timeline
      2. Interactions
      3. Notifications
    5. Twitter: Choose one or all of the following options associated to the Twitter account you selected:

      1. Home
      2. Tweets
      3. Mentions
      4. Messages
      5. Lists (after messages any lists you've created will be displayed) You can create or edit lists for this account in your Twitter list settings.


  4. Current Streams: Drag to re-order streams. Any changes made to the stream order below are automatically saved.

    1. To delete a stream click the X beside the stream you wish to delete

    2. To edit a 'Smart Stream' click the pencil icon
